In 1720 they built an ale house (pub) on this site and it served the community with ale, music and support. It was then a single story thatched building. In 1912, it was re – built as the pub we know now. Over the years, it has been adapted and improved, now offering accommodation and a fine restaurant and pub. Still supporting the local community and still providing ales and music.
It’s a Freehouse – so not tied to anybody and I own it. Although I feel as if I’m just a custodian of of 300 years of previous landlords. And I love it. Times are difficult at the mo, bit after 300 years in this lovely village – I’m sure we are going nowhere. Thank you for all your support. And here’s to the next 300 years. – Robert
